The following are the highlights of the awards and recognitions received:
ACCIONA received the "CDP Europe Award" for its inclusion with the highest possible score in the CDP Climate 2017 and CDP Water 2017 indexes, thanks to its work for sustainable water management and against climate change.
In 2017, for the third year running, ACCIONA has once again won the title of “greenest” electric utility in the world, according to the “New Energy Top 100 Green Utilities” ranking published every year by Energy Intelligence, a specialist independent consultant in energy markets.
ACCIONA has been granted Chile's National Environmental Award due to becoming a carbon-neutral company. The award was presented during the 4th Edition of the National Environmental Award organised annually by the Recyclápolis Foundation and sponsored by the Chilean government.
ACCIONA’s Toowoomba Second Range Crossing project in Queensland, Australia, has won the Silver Award for Best Transport Project at the inaugural edition of the Partnerships Bulletin PPP Awards in Sydney.
ACCIONA Agua has received the award that recognizes the company as the Water Company of the Year Award in 2017 (Global Water Intelligence). the most significant contribution to the development of the international water sector. Voters rated ACCIONA Agua's expansion in a number of international markets, such as Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Canada and the Middle East, through major water treatment contracts.
A study on the treatment of acid soils submitted by ACCIONA Construction won the award in the Special category
The Sustainable Construction Awards are an initiative of the Department of Public Works and the Environment of the Regional Government of Castilla y León, in collaboration with the Institute of Construction in this autonomous region
ACCIONA Construction received the JEC Innovation Award, which recognizes the world’s best developments in the field of composite materials.
ACCIONA Construcción has developed a lining made of composite panels to waterproof the tunnels of the high-speed rail line between Madrid and Asturias
ACCIONA Construction has received the “Asturian Stamp of Safe Mobility in the Company”, awarded by the Asturian Institute of Occupational Health and Safety to companies based in the Principality of Asturias, for good practices in occupational health and safety and road safety management.
The Association of Civil Engineers of Galicia has recognised the A Coruña access highway (AC-14) and the connection to the V-14 ring road for their technical, territorial and construction merits, as well as for their social value from an environmental and economic perspective as best engineering works in Galicia
ACCIONA Engineering has received the “FIDIC Award of Merit” at the international FIDIC Awards 2017, presented every year by the International Federation of Consulting Engineers, for its design project for the high-speed rail platform of the Venta de Baños junction in Palencia.
ACCIONA was awarded the distinctive RobecoSAM Silver Class 2017 among companies in the Electric Utilities sector, according to the Sustainability Yearbook 2017, which includes 15 % of companies with the best social, environmental and corporate governance practices within each sector.
The ACCIONA Microenergy Foundation's 'Luz en Casa' Centres are among the 10 most innovative social initiatives of 2016 selected by Compromiso Empresarial magazine in cooperation with CAF – Development Bank of Latin America.
ACCIONA Ingeniería receives one of the prestigious awards of the International Federation of Consulting Engineers FIDIC 2016 for the project "Málaga New Western By-pass. Section: Motorway AP-7 - Link Road MA-417. Churriana tunnel".
The international FIDIC awards recognize engineering projects that stand out for their innovation, quality and professional excellence; their respect for the principles of transparency and integrity; and their sustainability and respect for the environment.
The Potencia Awards recognise the best engineering projects and works, as well as civil engineering machinery. The award was presented for construction of the twin high-speed rail tunnels that ACCIONA Construction is constructing as part of the Follo Line project in Norway.
Fundación Integra acknowledged ACCIONA's work to help people who are at risk of social exclusion to gain a foothold in the labour market; to date, the Company has made 1,000 hires through the foundation, which places people at risk of social exclusion in jobs as a means of helping them gain access to the labour market. ACCIONA is a founding member of the foundation, which was created in 2001.
The Company was rated "A" in the CDP Global Climate Change Report 2016 and CDP Climate Change Report 2016 Iberia Edition, and has been included in the CDP's A List, and recognized with the A-List award
The "Latidos de Luz" (Heartbeats of Light) project, which was designed and executed by ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño for Seville City Government, won a Silver Elephant Plaque in the Best Event category at the EuBea - European Best Event Awards.
The program, aimed at improving the health of ACCIONA’s employees, won the Estrategia NAOS 2015 prize for fighting obesity in the business environment
ACCIONA has been chosen again as the best rated company in the infrastructure, services and construction sector, according to the Merco ranking of companies with the best corporate reputation in Spain.

ACCIONA Energía Mexico has received two awards at the 24th CEMEX Works Awards for the construction of the Ventika and Ventika II wind farms, located in the town of General Bravo, Nuevo León: the Award for Development of Industrial Works and the Special Award for Innovation in Construction Processes and Techniques.

International prize awarded to ACCIONA Energía for sustainability associated with a wind power project in Mexico.
The Inter-American Development Bank awarded the company its Infraestructura 360º prize, the most important of its type in Latin America, for the Eurus wind power project in Oaxaca.
The evaluation, carried out according to a sustainability analysis program by Harvard University, highlights the improvement in the quality of life of the community in the area around the wind farm.
ACCIONA receives for the third time the JEC innovation award thanks to its achievements in composite materials with the European project Biobuild.
ACCIONA has won 2015 JEC Innovation Award Europe in the category “construction” for the first self-supporting façade panel using bio-materials developed in the framework of the European Project Biobuild.
This is the third time that ACCIONA receives this prize: the first time was in 2011 for the trough beam from Almuñécar footbridge, and one year later, the second time in 2012 for the carbon fiber cables from Cuenca Footbridge.

ACCIONA Energy receives European award for best practices in workplace health and safety
The European Agency for Safety and Health at Work granted ACCIONA Energy an honourable mention as part of its "Healthy Workplaces, Manage Stress" campaign, for its psychosocial risk prevention plan.
The plan, which ACCIONA Energy has been working on for more than a year, is based on a careful evaluation of risks based on personal surveys and semi-structured interviews, specific experiences analysed by the Health and Safety Committees, and preventive medical exams which employees undergo.

ACCIONA received an award in the `Business´ category for its environmental activity at an event celebrating the Foundation's 10th anniversary.
ACCIONA was recognised as being a leading promoter of wind energy in Spain, developing increasingly efficient wind turbine generators, being the most innovative renewables operator, and for participating in the Dakar Rally with a 100% electric vehicle powered by clean energies.

The company received one of the most renowned international design awards, the iF Gold Award, for the largest immersive installation in the world, located in the Wu Kingdom Helv Relic Museum in Wuxi, China.
ACCIONA has been awarded the XIV Premio Fundación Torres Quevedo a la Colaboración-Empresarial for its work with the University of Cantabria (UC), of which the Foundation is a part. The “Western Australia Division Engineers” Association awarded the Mundaring DWTP with two WA Engineering Excellence Awards 2014.
This plant has been awarded with the “Infrastructure and Building” and with the “Engineering for Regional Communities” awards.
The first one recognizes that the engineering team conceived, developed and implemented a bushfire protection network. A high flow rate, high pressure sprinkler system was developed to provide a spray curtain barrier to protect key areas and structures from radiant heat.
The second award aims to recognize the particular contributions of engineers working in regional areas. The latest technology has been employed to provide a highly efficient, fully automated plant, which is monitored remotely.
ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño has won the international Red Dot Design Award for the audiovisual show it created for the Wu Kingdom Helv Relic Museum in the Chinese city of Wuxi.
The company designed and installed the multimedia facility, which involves the biggest immersive screen in the world (650 m2 and capacity for 3,840 visitors per day).
ACCIONA receives the European Business Award for the Environment (Spanish section) for its contribution to sustainable development.
ACCIONA has been awarded the European Business Award for the Environment (Spanish section) within the "Product and/or service for sustainable development" category for its construction system for port installations based on composite material caissons. This competitive system reduces CO2 emissions and lessens the impact on marine ecosystems in the construction of port infrastructures. The Princes of Asturias has award the prize today to ACCIONA Vice-president Juan Ignacio Entrecanales. The European Business Awards for the Environment are awarded by the European Commission's Directorate-General for the Environment, coordinated in Spain by the Fundación Biodiversidad of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and the Environment. The Spanish prizewinners will compete at the European level.
The ACCIONA-led consortium of Sociedade Concesionaria Novo Hospital de Vigo, awarded Deal of the Year 2013 by Project Finance.
“Deals of the Year 2013” awards ceremony held by Project Finance publication, recognize the most relevant financing initiatives in Europe. The Novo Hospital de Vigo financial close was awarded within the “European Healthcare Deal of the Year 2013” category. The Sociedade Concesionaria Novo Hospital de Vigo, is formed by Acciona, Grupo Puentes, Grupo Dalkia & Concessia. On 1st of August 2013 they reached financial close for the new hospital.
ACCIONA was awarded in the category of Strategic Training and Development Policy at the XVIII edition of Human Capital Awards for Human Resource Management 2014. This award is recognition of our company's high involvement in the design and implementation of programs for sharing knowledge, promoting innovation and use of technology.
ACCIONA AMONG THE LEADING CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY COMPANIES IN SPAIN, ACCORDING TO MERCO
ACCIONA is now part of the leading group of companies recognized for their corporate responsibility, according to the Merco 2014 corporate reputation index, up by one position from last year, ranking tenth in the list.
In terms of the general corporate reputation index, the company continues to rank highest in the "Infrastructure, Services and Construction" field by a significant margin with its immediate competitors - Abertis and FCC - although it has slipped in its global position from 12th to 20th.
The President of ACCIONA, José Manuel Entrecanales, also ranks 10th among the "top ten" business leaders, one position ahead of last year.
In 2014, the companies that make up the annual list of the "Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World" were announced at this year's World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland). ACCIONA is the only Spanish company to figure on this ranking, which brings together the world's most sustainable enterprises.
At the end of 2013, "Corporate Knights" published its first "TOP 10 Most Sustainable Utilities in the World" ranking, in which ACCIONA came in at second place.
ACCIONA's leading role in the fight against climate change, and the quality of its corporate reporting on environmental impacts, has been recognized by CDP, which sets global standards for environmental reporting and is a benchmark for investors worldwide, with an award given for its excellent rating in the Iberia 125 Climate Performance Leadership Index.
Smartwater4Europe, an international project headed by Dutch drinking water company Vitens, has been distinguished by the Global Water Awards in the category 'Water performance initiative of the year'.
ACCIONA Infrastructure has been granted with the Distinction for Preventive Management Merit 2014 for large companies in Valencia, Spain.
ACCIONA Ingeniería is awarded the prestigious Prize "Acueducto de Segovia 2013" in the Project Engineering category for the Feasibility and Preliminary Study, Detailed Design, Monitoring and Supervision of the Works "A-4 Southern Highway. Despeñaperros Bypass.
This project, developed between 2004 and 2013, allowed for the rehabilitation of the conditions of the A-4 Southern Highway at the Despeñaperros gorge section in order to adapt it to the standards of a modern highway, thus ensuring road traffic safety and proper services.
ACCIONA ranks second out of 111 Spanish companies evaluated (up 6 places compared to 2012), being one of the leading companies in good reporting practices, according to findings published in the 2013 Reporta report.
According to the study, ACCIONA received the highest score for Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance reporting and is the second most transparent company. ACCIONA is also the leader in the construction sector, with high all-around scores.
ACCIONA's position in major innovation rankings remains strong. "The 2013 EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard" report by the IRI (Economics of Industrial Research and Innovation) of the European Commission positions ACCIONA as the fifth Spanish company in terms of investment and the 143rd that has most increased R&D investments over the past three-years.
The global consulting firm Booz & Company, in its global innovation ranking, the methodology of which selects 1000 listed companies with the highest Research, Development and Innovation figure, positions ACCIONA 461, with a notable increase from position 620 last year.
ACCIONA was awarded one of the prestigious Deal of the Year awards by Project Finance Magazine for its innovative strategy of issuing project bonds to provide long-term financing for the development of two wind farms in Mexico.
ACCIONA Agua was chosen as Best Global Water Company of the year by Global Water Intelligence (GWI) magazine. The award recognizes the merits of the Company during 2012 and its contribution to the international development of the water industry.
Desalination Plant of the Year in 2013. (Global Water Intelligence): Award granted to the Adelaide Desalination Plant
The Adelaide plant, operated and maintained by ACCIONA Agua, has been recognized as one of the best-managed desalination plants in the world. The Inverse Osmosis plant uses microfiltration in its pretreatment process.
ACCIONA wins an award for the most innovative business project in 2013 in the Cinco Días awards for its project on the first self-sufficient energy filter system through the combined reuse of industrial organic waste and sewage sludge.
WWTP ALCANTARILLA, MURCIA, SPAIN
Project for co-digestion of sludge at the Alcantarilla, Murcia WWTP. This plant has received the award for the most innovative project in the area of new technologies.
The A-30 motorway in the province of Quebec, Canada has been, by far, the most award-winning project of 2013. Specifically, it has received five awards throughout the year:
DISTINCTION AND INFRASTRUCTURE AWARDS
ACCIONA Infrastructure received these two awards hand in hand by the Quebec Transport Association (QTA) in collaboration with the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ). Both awarded the consistency, usefulness and originality of the A-30 as a key infrastructure in the province of Quebec.
DESIGN AWARD FOR STEEL CONSTRUCTION. BRIDGES CATEGORY
The Canadian Institute of Steel Construction awarded ACCIONA Infrastructure the award for best design in the bridges category for the bridge project over the Beauharnois Canal built on the A-30 motorway.
At 2,550 meters long, the bridge over the Beauharnois Canal is the second longest incrementally launched bridge in the world. (BEAUHARNOIS).
ARMATURA 2013
ACCIONA Infrastructure was awarded the Armatura 2013 award by the Quebec Steel Reinforcement Institute (IAAQ) sponsored by Arcelor Mittal.
BEST BRIDGE 2013
The Scientific and Technical Structural Concrete Association (SCA), granted the bridge over the Beauharnois Canal the best constructed bridge award during 2013.
LEGACY WAY TUNNEL IN BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA
Best Tunnelling Project of the Year, International Tunnelling Awards 2013.
The Fort St. John Hospital of Canada is awarded the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) award for its stringent construction standards in the extreme northern climate of the British Columbia.
The Canada-Spain Chamber of Commerce awards ACCIONA as the Company of the Year, in recognition of the company's work in the country in recent years and its contribution to Spanish-Canadian business relations.
ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño is awarded the Best Sustainable European Event in the European Best Event Awards for the Day of Music Festival held in Madrid. It has also received the award for Best European Cultural Event, for the 2012 Multimedia Christmas Show held in Seville.
In 2013 ACCIONA earned the distinction of "Igualdad en la Empresa" ("Equality in the Company") awarded by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality (Spain).
This distinction is awarded annually to companies that demonstrate excellence in gender equality. The distinction takes into account aspects such as the commitment to promoting an environment free from discrimination on grounds of gender, balanced participation between women and men in decision-making, access to positions of greater responsibility and commitment to criteria and remuneration systems to reduce the wage gap.
Integra Foundation 500 Hiring Award and honorable mention of the recruitment agencies: In 2013 Acciona received an award from the Integra Foundation by hiring 500 people at risk of social exclusion.
ILUNDAIN FOUNDATION AWARD FOR THE WORK OF ACCIONA BLADES
The Navarre Ilundain Foundation has also recognized the work of ACCIONA as a company committed to the employment of youth at risk and supporting the integration project of this foundation.
INCORPORA AWARD OF LA CAIXA FOUNDATION WITH ACCIONA BLADES
ACCIONA, through ACCIONA Blades, has received the La Caixa Foundation Incorpora award, an award that recognizes the efforts and contributions of the company in providing job placements through the Incorpora program.
ZERO ACCIDENTS AWARD FROM THE INSTITUTO CÁNTABRO DE SEGURIDAD Y SALUD EN EL TRABAJO
The Government of Cantabria, in cooperation with the Instituto Cántabro de Seguridad y Salud en el Trabajo (ICASST) (Cantabria Health and Safety at Work Institute)gave this distinction to ACCIONA Infraestructuras for achieving a cycle of improvement in risk prevention. The Zero Accidents at Work initiative was created with the aim of promoting and encouraging companies of the Community of Cantabria to incorporate measures to improve prevention in the workplace and, as a result, improve their competitiveness, seeking the active involvement of both employers and workers.
ACCIONA wins the 11th Edition of the Employment & Entrepreneurs (E&E) Award for Innovation in Human Resources for the Digital Identity Talent Project. These nationally recognized awards recognize the companies with the greatest commitment to people management. Digital Identity Talent meets the need of transforming the people management processes of the company to the new digital ecosystem in which we are immersed. The project marks the first milestone, triggering a digital transformation with a clear focus on delivering results and medium-term benefits.
CEMEX BUILDING AWARDS: INFRASTRUCTURE AND PLANNING CATEGORY
ACCIONA Infrastructure was awarded the International CEMEX Building Award by CEMEX in the Infrastructures and Planning category during the 22nd edition of the CEMEX Building Awards for constructing the Zaragoza tram. This award recognizes the construction of the Zaragoza tram as an urban integration project, which gives the city a sustainable infrastructure which meets the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
CONSTRUMAT 2013, CIVIL ENGINEERING CATEGORY
ACCIONA Infrastructure was awarded the 2013 CONSTRUMAT award in the civil engineering category, for constructing the footbridge over the Júcar river in Cuenca. CONSTRUMAT 2013, an international construction exhibition, is one of the industry's most important trade fairs both in Europe and elsewhere. It attracts the top industry professionals and companies.
PROJECT DEAL OF THE YEAR (WORLD FINANCE 2013)
Award given to the wastewater treatment plant at Atotonilco. The award recognizes the operation of the WWTP at Atotonilco.
ESR 2013 DISTINCTION ACCIONA MEXICO
ACCIONA in Mexico obtained, for the third consecutive year, the ESR® 2013 distinction for its public and voluntary commitment to implementing socially responsible management. The ESR recognizes companies whose activity represents an example of CSR in Latin America.
