ACCIONA takes second place on the list of Spanish companies with the highest reporting quality

10/11/2013

ACCIONA ranks second out of 111 Spanish companies evaluated (up 6 places compared to 2012), being one of the leading companies in good reporting practices, according to findings published in the 2013 Reporta report.

The report, prepared by the consulting firm DEVA, assesses the quality of public information (Annual Reports, Financial Statements, Corporate Governance Reports, Sustainability Reports) made available to shareholders at the 2013 General Meeting of Shareholders by the companies listed on the General Index of the Madrid Stock Exchange (IGBM) at 31 December 2012.

The methodology of this report is based on 35 indicators divided into three main groups: Transparency, Appropriateness (relevance) and Accessibility (clear, understandable and easily accessible information).

According to the study, ACCIONA received the highest score for Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance reporting and is the second most transparent company. ACCIONA is also the leader in the construction sector, with high all-around scores.

The report does not assess the companies' performance or behaviour, but rather their willingness to communicate and provide sufficient information. Not only must the information be transparent and accessible, it must also address the concerns of stakeholders and issues that are relevant to the companies' present and future operations.
