The list of historical gardens that will be maintained by ACCIONA Service over the next ten years, for €95m, includes El Retiro, Parque del Oeste, Jardines de la Plaza de Oriente and El Capricho.

ACCIONA Service, the services and logistics division of ACCIONA, a global leader in renewable energy, infrastructure and water services, has been awarded an eight-year contract - with a possible two-year extension, for the maintenance and upkeep of Madrid's best known city parks.

ACCIONA Service has a long track record in green-zone maintenance and conservation and, in particular, the end-to-end maintenance of urban singular and historic parkland. The contract awarded by Madrid City Council is valued at 95 million euros.

ACCIONA Service will be responsible for parks and gardens that are, in some cases, over one hundred years old. The list includes El Retiro, Parque del Oeste (including an Egyptian temple, Templo de Debod; Príncipe Pio gardens and Ferraz Park), Quinta de Los Molinos, Fuente del Berro, El Capricho, Sabatini Gardens, Plaza de Oriente Square and Dehesa de la Villa. All of these parks and gardens require expertise in conservation. ACCIONA Service will manage the parks by implementing the best practices in sustainability, innovation and resource optimization that are the hallmark of the ACCIONA group of companies.
