Frankfurt is Europe's third-largest airport in terms of passenger traffic (57 million in 2012), surpassed only by Heathrow (London, UK) and Charles de Gaulle (Paris, France). ACCIONA has been providing ground handling services at Frankfurt Airport since 1999 through ACCIONA Airport Services. The company has a staff of 900 in Frankfurt, who handled 80,000 movements for 60 airlines last year.

ACCIONA Service provides similar services in airports in Berlin and Hamburg, as well as Palma de Mallorca (the third-largest airport in Spain by passenger numbers: 23 million in 2012), Menorca and Ibiza, all located in Spain's Balearic Islands.

ACCIONA Service, a new ACCIONA Group division, brings together the services to the public and private sector with the goal of offering solutions tailored to each sector by applying a comprehensive management model.

ACCIONA Service is a global platform for the activities that ACCIONA has been providing for the last 20 years, including facility management, internal and process logistics, security, gardening, cleaning, energy services, waste collection and treatment, event organisation and airport handling. The businesses in this new division obtained 598 million euros in turnover in 2012, and have an average workforce of 15,000 employees.
