ACCIONA has underlined its intention to strengthen its foothold in the services sector by reorganizing its portfolio under a new umbrella brand dubbed ACCIONA Service. The new brand brings together a broad range of existing ACCIONA services and aims at offering tailored solutions to both private- and public-sector customers based on an integrated management model. A number of services will come under the ACCIONA Service brand, among them building management, internal logistics and processes, security, gardening and landscaping, energy services, waste collection and treatment, design and organization of events or airport handling services. The various businesses grouped under this new division reported total revenues of 598 million euro in 2012 and have a total headcount of 12,000 employees.

ACCIONA Service sets out to position jointly a range of activities that ACCIONA has been offering for the past twenty years. By integrating them, the Company will be able to broaden its offering to its existing customer base, enhance commercial synergy, create value through end-to-end services management and boost its services offering's presence in the public sector and on the international stage. The main goal is to leverage a market situation in which both private- and public-sector businesses and organizations are keen to optimize their resources, step-up efficiency overall and ensure their competitiveness.

ACCIONA Service has a very firm footing in the private sector, a market in which growth stems primarily from a comprehensive and integrated offering and the reengineering of processes. Internationalization is another major avenue for growth; in this respect, the new division seeks to move forwards by using to full advantage its proven ability to stand out from the rest and provide support for companies in their international thrust.

The ACCIONA Service customer portfolio includes private companies from a broad range of sectors, e.g. automotive (Nissan, General Motors, Seat or Renault), food (Campofrío, Coca Cola, Nestlé or Kellog's), banking (BBVA, La Caixa, BancSabadell or Liberbank), pharmaceutical and healthcare (Almirall, Novartis, the Madrid's Infanta Sofía Hospital or Canada's Royal Jubilee Hospital, in British Columbia), tourism and transport (AENA, Renfe, Air Europa or NH), commerce and malls (Inditex, Kiabi, Caprabo, Anjoca or Unibail-Rodamco).

The division has also made great strides in the public sector on the strength of "an extensive knowledge of private business, potent analytical skills and considerable flexibility, all of which go towards giving ACCIONA a head start as the partner of choice for public authorities as they grapple with major challenges such as cost-cutting, meeting social demands and maintaining quality standards in public services", according to ACCIONA Service General Manager, Ricardo Molina. Here, ACCIONA's main trump card is its ability to apply its proven record of managerial efficiency in private business to the public sector.

ACCIONA Service operates currently in eleven countries (Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Romania, Mexico, the UK, Italy, Qatar and Canada); as well as having its sights set on reinforcing its activities in its current markets, the new division is on the lookout for business opportunities in other markets, especially LatAm and the Persian Gulf states.

This latest ACCIONA division shares a distinguishing feature with the rest of the Group, namely its firm commitment to sustainability and innovation. This was evidenced when it became the first Facility Services company to obtain ISO 9001 certification for services quality, and 14001 certification for environmental management, two areas in which it has advanced significantly by upgrading and extending the certifications over recent years. It was also among the first companies to obtain the Igualdad ("Equality") mark issued by Spain's Ministry of Health, Social services and Equality.
