ACCIONA leads the way in Climate Change management

For the first time ever, ACCIONA has been included among the European corporate front-runners for their activities and performance in the fight against Climate Change, according to the The CPLI (Carbon Performance Leadership Index) is compiled by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP). According to the CPLI's latest European report, CDP Europe 300 Report 2011 Carbon Materiality, the group contains on only three companies, namely Siemens, Ferrovial and Acciona.

In the Report specifically on the Iberian Peninsula (covering companies in Spain and Portugal) CDP Iberia 125 Informe 2011, ACCIONA is back among the group of leaders (CPLI Carbon Performance Leadership Index). The Company is one of three corporations (together with Gas Natural and Ferrovial) that stand out for their transparency and commitment and integration in their environment strategy. ACCIONA is also ranked third in the industrial sector, with a score of 86 points (in 2010 it scored 69), following improvements in the transparency of Climate Change information.

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is an independent non-profit organization that identifies benchmark companies in the field of climate change management and provides information to more than 500 institutional investors with more than 71 billion dollars in assets available for promoting investment and reducing the risks that come with Climate Change. It evaluates more than 3,000 corporations the world over for two concepts: ranking transparency, commitment and integration) and the performance of the actions that the corporations carry out.
