ACCIONA is the IBEX-35 company with the website that best meets the accessibility requirements for disabled users, according to the findings of an independent study carried out by Adesis, a firm of consultants specializing in online strategies.

acciona.comAdesis looked at the different parameters that guarantee ease of access for mentally and/or physically disabled users to information on company websites and concluded that the ACCIONA website is the best, with an AA levl of 86.6%, ten points more than the second-placed website, Inditex, which scored 76.17%

The study acknowledges ACCIONA's commitment towards eliminating barriers to information and highlights the need, in general, to step up efforts aimed at making websites more accessible. According to the study, only one out of every two IBEX-35 companies "make the grade", with an AA score of 50%.

The following are just some of the improvements made to the ACCIONA web to enhance accessibility:

  • Text size. Fonts have relative sizes and the user can use the browser to control font size.
  • Design, browsing and interactivity. Content is displayed more efficiently and browsing is more coherent across the website, with the same structure on each page.
  • Keyboard shortcuts. Quick and easy access to the browsing menu and to links at the bottom of each page.
  • Videos and images carry captions and text, making it easier for visually and auditively impaired users to understand them.

ACCIONA's efforts to guarantee accessibility to its website have earned it AENOR AA certification, according to UNE 139803 standard, making it the first IBEX-35 company to do so.
