    ACCIONA set up its first office in the Middle East in Dubai in 2008. Since then, Dubai has been the hub and expansion platform from which ACCIONA carries out its business in the Gulf and other Arab states.

    ACCIONA Agua has permanent facilities in the Emirates in Dubai and Fujairah. ACCIONA Construcción has designed and built the extension of the Red Line to the Expo 2020 and enhancement of both existing Red and Green Lines. ACCIONA Construcción has also branches in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

    The two companies have jointly built a large-scale seawater desalination plant with reverse osmosis technology in Fujairah, (“Fujairah 1”), with a capacity of 136,000m3/day.

    ACCIONA Industrial is constructing the world’s largest photovoltaic plant in Dubai, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (Phase III)

    ACCIONA Producciones y Diseño is now permanently established in Dubai.

    ACCIONA Service and ACCIONA Energía also have commercial representation in the Dubai office.

    The project involves the construction of a 15-kilometre-long line – of which 11.8 kilometers of elevated metro lineand 3.2 kilometers underground metro line - branching off the existing red line at the Nakheel Harbour & Tower station. The metro extension will have seven stations, including an interchange at Nakheel Harbour and an iconic metro station at the World Expo site. The highly-complex project will include a 3.2 km tunnel perforated by a tunnel boring machine, 1.2 km of open-cut route and 11.8 km of elevated viaduct metro line.

    Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park (Phase III)

    ACCIONA, Gransolar and Ghella, is constructing the world’s largest photovoltaic plant, which will have a peak capacity of 1054 MWdc. This is a turnkey (EPC, Engineering, Procurement and Construction) project for the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). The new plant will cover approximately 17.8 km2 and will consist of more than three million photovoltaic panels. The plant will prevent the emission of around 1.4 million tonnes of CO2 every year. The project is expected to be complete during the first half of 2020 to coincide with the Dubai EXPO.

    Fujairah Desalination Plant

    Fujairah Desalination Plant

    Construction, Operation and Maintenance of a seawater desalination plant. It consists of the extension of the existing installations. This expansion will provide additional capacity of 137,000 m3/day, meaning that the original plant will reach 592,000 m3/day. It is expected to supply potable water to a population of over 500,000.
