ACCIONA Infrastructures opened an office in the country in 2012.
ACCIONA is currently constructing the Ibarra Wastewater Treatment Plant. The objectives of the project are the collection and final disposal both of the liquid waste from the city as well as the surface run-off waters from rain, thereby preventing floods and risky situations. The plant will have a flow of 43,200 m3/day and will supply a population equivalent to 198,000 people.
ACCIONA is constructing the Labrador and La Magdalena stations for the Quito Metro. The inclusion of these stations into the metro line is expected to be inaugurated in early 2015.
This project consists of the construction, extension and improvement of the water capture and purification structures in Esmeraldas. The whole drinking water system of the city and its area of influence is being modernized. Some of the most important activities include: the extension of the existing intake in the Esmeraldas River, doubling the current length of the inlet channel to capture a volume of 3,200 liters per second, and; theinstallation of various pumps and new purification modules, optimization of the current purification plant and construction of a new drinking water pumping station.
