ACCIONA is present in the country with two of its main business lines: Water and Energy. In the field of wastewater treatment, ACCIONA works on the WWTP Los Tajos in San Jose. ACCIONA also has a very productive wind farm of nearly 50 MW in Chiripa.
Projects
Los Tajos Wastewater Treatment Plant
ACCIONA inaugurated the Tagus River Wastewater Treatment Plant (2.8 m3/s) in the city of San Jose. The "Los Tajos" WWTP is the cornerstone of Phase I of the San José Environmental Improvement Project, a program aimed at the refurbishment and extension of the more than 360-kilometre network of collectors and secondary sewer networks.
Chiripa Wind Farm
Chiripa is one of ACCIONA's most productive wind farms. Operating since 2014, this 49.5 MW facility produces enough clean electricity to power 80,000 homes. It belongs to ACCIONA Energy (65%) and Costa Rican company Ecoenergía (35%).
