      Quito metro

      22 km tunnel consisting of the first metro line for Quito, Ecuador.

      The suburban section of the first metro line for the Ecuadorean capital is 22 km long and includes 13 new stations adding to the two already built by ACCIONA.

      The line will also have rail workshops and the facilities needed for its correct operation. The contract includes the integration of systems and commissioning. 

      The metro line runs from the current Quitumbe bus terminal, south of the city, to El Labrador station, north of land associated with the old airport. 

      OBJECTIVE

      To launch a better transport system for passengers in Quito city. The line is the first element of a new public transport system for Quito.

      BENEFIT

      The project represents the saving of US$ 50 million a year in fuel costs by improving the urban transport system, with the resulting reduction of 67,000 metric tons of CO2.

      INCLUDES
