Portrait of Spain. Masterpieces from The Prado

The exhibition "A Portrait of Spain. Masterpieces from The Prado" took place at the Queensland Art Gallery (QAG) in Brisbane, Australia, from 21 June to 4 November 212, thanks to the joint-efforts of Museo Nacional del Prado and ACCIONA. During this period, the Australian city displayed in the "Sala del Prado" a hundred or so paintings by iconic Spanish painters such as Velázquez, Murillo or Goya, and organized a range of other activities to help bring visitors closer to other aspects of Spanish culture.

The list of artists on show included El Greco, Ribera, Zurbarán, Velázquez, Murillo, Goya and Sorolla. The exhibition also featured works by non-Spanish artists-such as Titian, Anthonis Mor, Rubens, Luca Giordano, Houasse, Tiepolo or Mengs-, all of whom worked in Spain or left their mark on Spanish art.

ACCIONA's collaboration in this show is part of the Prado Museum's international exhibitions program, which sets out to take Spanish culture across the globe. In this particular case, the exhibition took place in Australia, a country in which ACCIONA has a longstanding presence in infrastructure, renewables and water management services.
